Covid-19 Specific T's & C's
My priority is to safeguard my students, my family, my business, and the Shuffle Dance community. With that in mind all the following has been agreed with myself, and our venue providers to ensure that the risk of contact and contamination within Shuffle Dance is kept extremely low. However, Coronavirus is an airbourne virus and while all these steps are essential precautionary measures, they are not preventative. Attendance at any Shuffle Dance class will be taken at the risk of dancers parents, and while we will all do everything we can to prevent the virus spreading through our Shuffle Dance family, neither Shuffle Dance, our instructors or the venue providers can be held responsible for any spreading of the virus that may occur. We insist that you follow these measures to keep everyone safe. We are following the Scottish Governments advice with regards to what measures are important and effective is slowing the spread of Coronavirus. You should also discuss and explain it to your dancer so they know in advance what is expected of them.
Thank you.
If anyone in your household has shown ANY coronavirus symptoms (high temp, new persistent cough, change in taste/smell) your dancer must stay home, you must inform Gillian on the details above, and follow the most up to date NHS guidelines with isolating and testing. Details of symptoms and any further government guidelines can be found at nhsinform.scot
If your dancer has symptoms of coronavirus you must isolate your dancer for the govt guided times and inform Gillian Syme. Including ANY test results so she can then protect the other dancers in the class if needed.
If your dancer has tested positive for coronavirus you must alert Gillian Syme, and stay home to isolate.
If a dancer in your child’s class has tested positive, you will be alerted and all dancers in that class will be told to isolate for the current govt guided time.
If your dancer has been in contact with a positive case outside of dancing and told to isolate, you MUST alert Gillian Syme.
If your child has been asked by their school to isolate, you must inform Gillian Syme and they cannot attend dancing.
If your child is unwell enough to be kept off school with any other illness (cough/cold) they should also be kept home from dancing.
Where adults are allowed into buildings they must keep 2m apart from other families. They must wear masks for drop off/pick up when they are inside the building. Where adults are not allowed in the building, the instructor will pick them up at the entrance and release them to a recognisable parent/guardian at the exit. PLEASE DO NOT SEND ADULTS THAT OUR INSTRUCTORS DO NOT KNOW, WE WILL NOT RELEASE THE DANCER.
Only one adult per family for drop off/pick up. Where possible please leave siblings at home with another adult to reduce the number of people in waiting areas.
There will be a register of adults dropping children off. Adults must sanitise their hands before leaving their details including phone number where they are reachable for test and protect purposes. These numbers will be kept on file for the duration of the Scottish Governments Test and Protect tracing scheme in case of emergencies or further developments. If any adult refuses to give their contact phone number we will not allow the dancer to take part in class and no refund will be given. WE ALSO ADVISE DOWNLOADING THE SCOTTISH GOVERNMENTS FREE NHS TEST&PROTECT SCOTLAND APP.
Children should come in clean clothing, bring a bag with only their water bottle and dance shoes to class. They can bring their own hand sanitiser if they wish, however touch-free sanitation will be provided. They will come into class and be given their own designated space to change their shoes and leave their water bottle before entering the dance space.
All dancers should make sure they have been to the toilet and washed hands thoroughly BEFORE coming to dancing.
All dancers will sanitise hands on entry and exit.
There will be no waiting in hallways or waiting rooms during class. Adults cannot congregate during class.
Children will be released 5 mins early to allow for change over without too much traffic in reception area. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU ARE THERE FOR THIS TIME.
If you arrive at the venue early, please wait in car/outside until you child’s class time, this will stop a build-up of adults in sign in/out areas.
The only time where these guidelines will not be followed is in the case of an emergency (e.g. fire alarm) where it is safer and essential to remove all persons from the building as quick as possible.
NO ADULTS WILL BE ALLOWED IN OUR DANCE HALL UNLESS MEDICALLY NECESSARY.
Classes will be available on zoom for any dancer that has to isolate. No refunds will be available. No children will be filmed in the zoom session, only the instructor.
Classes will be socially distanced in line with the current government guidelines.
All venue will have one-way systems in place, inside and outside of the buildings - PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOU USE THEM.
Students and adults must agree to abide by these new guidelines to ensure that we keep our Shuffle Dance family safe.
